One Belt, One Road Summit: PM to leave for China tomorrow

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Maithree Wickremesinghe will be leaving for China tomorrow (13) to attend the One Belt, One Road summit in Beijing.

Leaders of 30 countries will be taking part in the high-level round table discussions that will be conducted at the summit. The forum will pay special attention to the benefits that can be derived by countries through President of China Xi Jing Ping’s Belt and Road.

The PM will be accompanied by a delegation comprised of the Minister of Special Assignments, Dr. Sarath Amunugama; Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage, Rauff Hakeem; Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development, Sagala Ratnayake; Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade, Malik Samarawickrama; Prime Minister’s Secretary, Saman Ekanayake; Additional Secretary Saman Athaudahetti; Director of East Asia & Pacific for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Savitri Panabokke; Managing Director of the Department of External Resources, D. M. S. de Silva; and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Sandra Perera.
