Prior to her death, Wall was anticipating to write a feature about Mr Madsen and his submarine, which weighs 40-tonnes and was once the largest privately-made vessel of its kind.
The journalist boarded Mr Madsen’s submarine on 10 August, and no word had been heard from her since then.
Following her disappearance, an arrest has recently been made to Mr Madsen, who was prosecuted under the charges of deliberately sinking his own submarine and drowning Ms Wall.

As a result of the vessel’s short disappearance, a search and rescue mission was conducted by the Danish Navy and officials managed to retrieve Mr Madsen from the sunken submarine on August 11.

Speaking about Ms Wall, Mr Madsen initially rejected accusations that he was responsible for the journalist’s death, claiming that he had dropped her off on land the previous evening.
Following a thorough search of the submarine once it was brought to the surface, there had been no trace of Ms Wall’s body.
It was later revealed that the Danish inventor told police officials a different story with regards to Ms Wall’s death.
Mr Madsen reported that his submarine had sunk due to an accident and he had no choice but to bury Ms Wall at sea, who died as a result of the tragedy.
He furthermore claims that her body was left somewhere in the area in Koge Bay, located south of Copenhagen.
Due to this allegation, a current search and rescue operation is being conducted to find Ms Wall’s body.
In response to Mr Madsen’s charges of manslaughter, his lawyer Betina Hald Engmark told Demark media that her client "accepts the arrest but still denies the crime."
Kim Wall, a graduate of Columbia University and London School of Economics, was a highly valued journalist and was based between Beijing and New York.
The 30-year old had a history of writing for international publications from countries such as Uganda and Haiti. As well as this, her work has been published in UK’s The Guardian, The New York Times and many other newspapers.
