Late Tuesday it was almost upon islands like Antigua and Barbuda and has recorded near 185 mph winds. ET Advisory, the US National Hurricane Center said the eye of the hurricane was 50 miles from the 2 islands; and it was moving to the west-northwest at 15 mph.
Hurricane watches and warnings have been issued across Puerto Rico,The Dominican Republic, Haiti,Turks and Caicos,Cuba and the Leeward Islands.Though it's too early to tell whether the storm will make landfall on the US mainland ,the forecasts show it could turn towards Florida over the weekend.In addition the Hurricane Center warned the storm is "potentially catastrophic" that the worst conditions hit islands at high tides."
Meanwhile Tropical storm Jose has formed over the open Atlantic;following closely behind Irma" said the NHC on Tuesday. Jose could become a category 2 hurricane as it brushes the northeastern- most Caribbean island at the end of the week; However they say that Jose may not threat US or Puerto Rico as of Tuesday.
