Senior Superintendent of Police, Shani Abeysekera has been appointed Director of the Criminal Investigations Department. Chairman of the National Police Commission, P. H. Manatunga said SSP Abeysekera’s appointment would come into effect immediately. One of the most experienced detectives in Sri Lanka, Abeysekera was instrumental in successfully investigating many serious crimes in the recent past.
