Short-eats amidst cash in alms bowl at Kiribathgoda when alms-gathering was in progress to pay back sil cloth fine

These days activities of carrying begging bowls is in operation at various places as organised by the United Opposition. Under these circumstances when a group of the sangha was engaged in this activity yesterday in Kiribathgoda, an incident where short-eats were
donated to the begging bowl instead of money took place.

This food was not rejected by the sangha and because short-eats began to fall into the begging bowl together with cash notes, a crowd of provincial politicians in the background went into a rage and caused some confusion. What they said was that it was some people who wanted to sabotage proceedings of begging to collect money who had given food. The said incident, in video from below
