Story of the longest sari-pota ... how India supported without problem to anybody (video)
Because of the wedding celebration yesterday in Kandy of the sari-pota Guiness Record which created an uproar, the Child Protection Authority has even commenced an inquiry by now in connection with the act of employing schoolgirls.
As a result of this activity certain roads in Kandy had to be closed and all work at Alawathugoda
Kanishta Vidyalaya were adjourned while the parents too have taken pains to dress up small girls in classes 2 - 3 and to wake up the schoolgirls of class 4 to stand in a row to hold the sari-pota and to make them participate and the parents themselves have applied for leave and proceeded there. All teachers too have been by the roadside for hours on end. This particular school is under the administration of a principal. He had carried out this activity on instructions of the Chief Minister.A record akin to this was established in India in the month of March. On the event of a bridge being erected in the town of Haruch across Narmada River in India, the said activity was organised. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated at this event and prior to the opening ceremony of the bridge young men and girls who kept holding the sari were specially assigned for that task. People who got into boats along the river beyond the bridge had held on to the rest of the sari by rendering support to proceedings of the celebration, it was reported. The said sari was unrolled for a length of 3055 meters.
Whatever it is, as it was a relevant feature for the opening of the bridge, it was easy to achieve this record and there was no obstructions for the traffic; nobody was installed on compulsion.
