Mini polls before Feb. 17 – Nominations for 248 LG bodies from today

Deshapriya said the full strengthen of the state mechanism would have to be employed for the election. He said the commission was the ultimate authority that would decide the date of the election, adding that it could be held on or before February 17. Political parties have made requests to hold the election any day excepting Sundays and public holidays, he said.
