A/L gadget-student wants to sit for 4th paper also
The student of Colombo Royal College who sat for the Advanced Level by attaching super technological gadgets on his body recently with the aid of a teacher in Chemistry is currently spending time under remand custody with his dentist-father, the tuition sir and members of that family. In the process he has already completed all main subjects of the Advanced Level. He now is preparing to sit for the Ordinary Common Examination expected to be held next 4th. He has forwarded a motion across a lawyer to
Gampaha Magistrate Court asking that he be provided an opportunity to sit for the exam paper next Monday (4).The said motion was perused by Gampaha Magistrate Mr. D.A. Ruwan Pathirana yesterday (31) and had come to the conclusion that since the student has still not been convicted guilty in connection with the case under consideration, his right to sit for the Advanced Level cannot be prevented. As such, the Magistrate has instructed the Registrar of Gampaha Magistrate Court to inform Mahara Prisons Superintendent in writing to grant the student permission to sit for the exam.
Whatever it is, the student is to present himself at Gampaha Magistrate Court on the very same date of the exam and therefore the Magistrate ordered that Mahara Prisons Superintendebt be notified about it. If however the exam-fraud is proved, results of his exam would be revoked and prohibition from sitting at exams will be enforced on him for 5 years or more according to what the Commissioner of Examinations had told the media before this.
